LED indicator active but system fails to start.
Hello, after a full year using my PC, I considered adding more RAM. I bought the same type from the same seller and installed them. The DRAM light came on, but when I swapped them out with the old ones, it wouldn’t power up again. I tested all settings and combinations, except one that worked. I inspected the connections—no bent pins and no dust. Could you suggest any advice? Thanks!
Sorry for the delay. Your system runs a Ryzen 7 7800X3D with a B650 Aorus Elite AX motherboard. I checked AMD’s site and saw recommendations around 5200 MHz for two sticks and 3600 MHz for four. That seems confusing since I usually used 2x16 at 6000 MHz. Should I prioritize faster performance with less RAM, or more RAM but slower speeds? My RAM drains quickly during Jedi: Survivor, but keeping the speed would be great.
For 4 sticks, I’d suggest checking if 5000 works instead of 3600. It might be faster and more effective.
The top choice for personal guidance would be someone with deep expertise in this area. Running multiple stocks simultaneously isn't advisable.
It seems the setup might be adjusting RAM speed based on detected module count, but it appears to be fluctuating between 4800 and 6000.
Depends on how much page file space you're using. If you're hitting it often, speed matters less than performance. For a gaming rig with 32GB or more, aim for the fastest possible. A 4x16GB setup is uncertain and may not work well. You might need to try different BIOS versions, as only every other revision usually runs smoothly at decent speeds. Also, check if your system has two memory modules and compatibility issues could arise. What memory kits did you purchase?
