LED display for CPU B450 gaming setup enhanced with maximum performance features.
Hi everyone. After reassembling my PC, I still see a red CPU indicator on the motherboard. I've tried everything from updating the BIOS to removing the CMOS battery, checking RAM sticks, and even swapping out CPUs like R5 2600, R5 5600X, and R3 1600X. Despite the CPU appearing fine with straight pins, the motherboard behaves differently. It seems I might have made a mistake. Below are some pictures. One thing to note is I didn’t attempt this before, but I placed the CPU in without the cooler to check for overheating. I shorted the FP connectors, and the board lit up again—then the CPU shut down instantly when pressed. After releasing it, it rebooted as if something was shorting. Could that be the issue? Thanks! The retention bracket has been taken off? The CPU might be misaligned or bent. Lowering the lever of the bracket lets the socket grip the CPU pins and hold them in place. Without the bracket, using the CPU without a cooler and without the bracket can cause numerous poor contacts, making it hard to achieve a stable connection. You definitely need the bracket back.
