I just changed the CPU from a Ryzen 3 3100x to a Ryzen 5 5600 but it’s not working. The red light stays on and nothing happens. Switching back to the old CPU fixed it. I changed the CMOS battery too, but it didn’t help. Here are my details: CPU: Ryzen 5 5600 GPU: Radeon 5500xt Motherboard: AORUS B450 Pro Wi-Fi RAM: DDR4 16GB 3600MHz PSU: EVGA 650W

You might have missed out on the Silicon Lottery with your new CPU. Consider disabling XMP in BIOS. Have you verified if your BIOS is current and compatible with the newer CPU? It should be version F60 or higher. Upgrade your BIOS to the latest version, and if it works, revert it back to Default. If that doesn’t help, enable XMP; otherwise, manually set RAM to 3200.

Reset CMOS, if it starts working and boots Windows, then turn on XMP settings.
