Hi everyone.
I've been facing an odd issue with my PC lately. Whenever I try to play a game—like Mafia: Definitive Edition or RDR 2—I usually finish about 10 to 15 minutes in, and then it just closes to the Desktop without any warning. It's curious how games run smoothly until they crash, and my PC still handles RDR2 in ultra quality.
I'm not sure what's causing this. My system is always clean, and I don't think overheating is the issue.
Here are my specs:
Intel i7-4770k
G-skill trident 1600 MHZ (two 4GB and one 8GB)
Gigabyte Z97-gaming 7
MSI 1070ti Gaming X
WD 2TB HDD

There might have been temperature problems before on the desk, as it wasn't providing sufficient airflow through the tower for cooling. It could be time to rethermalize.

The problem might lie with the two distinct sets of RAM. Ram doesn't like interacting with the second parties. You could test it using a single 8GB stick before moving to the two 4GB sticks.

I see your concern, but I've been using ultra quality games with two sets for over a year without any issues. The problem has only appeared recently during the past 3-4 days.

Maybe someone is not succeeding, so I'll keep trying with separate sticks.

I'll attempt that, but is it normal for there to be no errors at all? It seems to appear directly on the Desktop.

Hi again.
I ran memtest64 for 3.5 hours and saw no errors at all, with all 13 tests passing for four rounds.
Later, I discovered something noteworthy.
I placed the case on the desk and opened one side to watch the fans while I played. It was surprising to find no crashes during the middle of the games. I also played RDR2 for about an hour at ultra settings and it ran smoothly without any interruptions.
What are your thoughts on this?
