learning linux
I’m planning to study computer science in college. I understand that Linux isn’t necessary right now, but it would be great to begin. I’m used to Windows and find Linux quite challenging. I’m wondering where to start. Essentially, I want to explore the file system and its confusing nature.
A few months ago, I found Windows frustrating due to slow updates and overall instability. I wanted to move away from Microsoft and try Linux. Initially, it felt overwhelming, but over time it became more comfortable. To ease the transition, I watched many of Wendell's videos on Level1Tech and Level1Linux channels. For beginners, I suggest two of his videos: they explain Linux in a way that makes it clear you’ll find it more powerful than Windows. When issues arise, remember others have faced similar problems and there are plenty of guides to help you troubleshoot. Don’t lose hope if things don’t go as planned!

I've already seen that video. I still believed Windows is much easier to use. But now I understand why Linux works the way it does.
You're using the locate command effectively for quick searches. To refine results, you can pipe them to grep with a regex pattern.
Occasionally, certain individuals struggle with Linux, just like me. Windows seems to be a permanent choice for them.
