Learning about CPU voltages in Intel systems
You're seeing readings that are within typical ranges for your setup. The VID in HWMonitor is normal, and the core voltage values in CPU-Z reflect the actual performance under load. These numbers aren't unusually high for an i9-11900KF on a Z590 board during benchmarking.
Didn't experience throttling in tests; temperature reached a high of 94°C with core temps hitting 96°C. It came close but stayed stable. Once the new fans arrive, it should run cooler. Currently idling at 32°C. Peak power consumption was 291W. I'm planning to adjust the offset slightly without losing performance.
Does your board include a VRVOUT sensor listed in Hwinfo? That would indicate a solid design choice, offering the most dependable voltage measurement.
These findings come from the data with Adaptive Vcore enabled in Vcore Voltage Mode. All manual adjustments were eliminated and the system now operates automatically. The average Vcore dropped by roughly 0.050V, though it briefly reached a peak of 1.650V during single-threaded tests.
The peak voltage has dropped significantly when Vcore Voltage Mode is auto, reaching around 1.620V with a reduction of roughly 20-30mV overall. Most of the time it stays below 1.6V. Turning TVB Frequency Clipping on or off didn’t change the result much. I restored the BIOS to its default settings. It seems that clearing out the per-core ratio limits—where the preferred cores are usually shown—was key to lowering the Vcore to 1.25V during multi-threaded runs and to about 1.40V in single-threaded tests, with a brief spike to 1.428V. The power draw is now 209W, and the package temperature has fallen to 75°C. It looks like I’d need to undervolt it at the same clock speeds as before to maintain a reasonable Vcore level. It appears the unit starts at its maximum performance.
