The terms mention collecting and storing personal information, such as emails or files in private folders. I’m ready to stop this and regain privacy within Windows again. In my view, no organization should have access to data you don’t want shared, only what you’re comfortable with being disclosed. For more details, see the article: http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/...32300.html

I fully support your view, but once you accept the conditions things shift quickly.

Absolutely, the same issues persisted with Windows 8 and 8.1. Opt for a custom install and permission setup. Avoid options like "express settings" or "auto install" if you want full control, as they may prioritize optimization over your needs, including data collection.

Even when you tailor it, it won’t fix the issue you think you’re dealing with. There are other factors at play that you’re not aware of.

Well, honestly, it's common sense. But, if you don't know how to do it, you most likely have no reason to disable it, if you had any sensitive data and didn't want this, you would know! Also, reading any tech news related site would have told you this by now and how to disable it. It was posted on day 1 on the verge and slashdot. Nuff said!

Most of the tech-savvy community relies on PCs, though. It’s nice to see such stories in outlets like The Independent—it keeps these details visible to a wider audience.

Google, Facebook, the government, and ISPs are monitoring your activity... Opting for a custom install only partially seals the breach. This isn’t a valid excuse to skip Windows 10

It isn't a valid excuse to simply give in.
