I'm using Manjaro with KDE and was thrilled to find that 99% of what I need daily is available, often simpler than on Windows. League is the only game everyone in my friend group plays, so we usually play together and chat there. First, I tried installing Lutris from Pacman (not GitHub) following the instructions carefully—closing the client before logging in didn't help. Then I looked for a guide using Snap and started it with --devmode, but that also failed. Eventually I compiled it myself, which didn't work either. The issue keeps repeating: the launcher opens, I log in, choose a game, then a clip screen appears with a blue start button at the bottom left. Clicking it shows a frozen window (like a center 9th), but nothing happens. After clicking the logo in the system tray, the launch window reappears with the blue button, though it's grayed out and unresponsive. I've updated the kernel, but since I'm on an Arch-based distro, it might not have fixed the problem. Anyone know if a specific kernel version works for League?

I'm really unsure what to do next. I'd appreciate any suggestions on where to look for more details or someone who might assist.

I haven't played LoL myself, but I noticed this discussion. The wiki points to August 2021 and mentions updates, so it seems the anti-cheat features might not be fully compatible with Linux at the moment.

I only attempted to compile the game. I'll review the Reddit discussion and share my insights.

Bottles is definitely useful for playing most Windows games on Linux. There are other options too, to be honest. I'm currently occupied with my studies, but hopefully I can assist you with running League once I have some free time.

I note these observations in my report. Avoid running League on Linux if you can; a dual-boot setup is preferable so you won’t run into issues where only Windows apps function. The latest I tried was PowerDesigner. For a more stable experience, consider the Lutris version—it’s the most reliable. Just watch out, as updates might cause problems. Don’t log in immediately after installation; close and reopen the system. If you hit a snag, refer to these resources (based on my Manjaro experience): https://forum.manjaro.org/t/how-to-insta...aro/101608 And if Lutris won’t work, try the Snap version: https://snapcraft.io/install/leagueoflegends/manjaro
