League of Legends FPS Capped Below Refresh Rate (Fullscreen Borderless)
Recently during League of Legends in borderless fullscreen mode, my FPS stays below my monitor's refresh rate. At 144Hz it caps at 108fps and at 120Hz it drops to 98fps. I didn’t notice a problem until disconnecting the monitors to access my PC. Playing fullscreen gives me normal FPS, but I usually prefer borderless. Here are my specs: I7 7700k, GTX970, 16GB RAM, two 60Hz BenQ monitors, and one 144Hz BenQ monitor. I’ve tried several fixes—turning off VSync in NVIDIA settings, reinstalling Windows, disabling Fullscreen Optimization, and using only the main monitor—but my FPS still gets capped. If a window covers my league window, performance returns to normal. Edit: Reformatting my SSD seems to have resolved the issue.
The new SSD isn't the boot drive. I have two SSDs and an HDD. My motherboard is Asus Strix Z270E, and the new SSD is a WD Blue 3D NAND. I transferred the installation to another SSD, which is my boot drive, and it seems that might've resolved the issue. I'll check again later to see how it performs.
