This unusual issue has been happening since the Creators Update was installed. Whenever I open a file or save a picture, the program freezes. After the update, the OS was restored and the problem seemed fixed, but it reappeared hours later. I plan to perform another installation to determine if the cause is an application.

Have you observed the default setting of the 'save file' window? If it consistently uses the same folder—like c:\users\yourname\downloads—it might indicate an issue with your hard drive, possibly a malfunction. You could adjust the downloads directory in Chrome and switch to another drive, testing if the problem persists. If it works on a different SSD, the original drive may be failing or experiencing glitches.

Thank you for the advice. I performed a full reinstall, but I'll remain vigilant and monitor the situation to check if it continues to function properly.
