Recently I upgraded to a 10850k model. Got a stable 5ghz performance across all cores with minimal adjustments. Did I just get better? A few Zen 3 leaks are reporting higher frame rates—1080p and 1440p on the 5800/5700 chip, around 20-30 FPS more than the 10900k.
It's a really impressive CPU. For Zen 3 to surpass Comet Lake by more than 20 frames per second, it would need the most significant IPC boost ever seen in silicon manufacturing.
Now these 3700x and 3900x resolutions are being hit by higher-end GPUs like the 10900, 10850k, 10700k, 10600k, 9900k, and even 8700k in fast gaming sessions.
Well, if Zen 3 matches the gains seen in Zen 2 versus Zen+, the performance boost seems realistic, though we can't be sure those engineers actually delivered it. Smacked? Not quite—many games can take advantage of multiple cores, and titles like R6S can even gain from Ryzen 7 or 9. Some games where Intel leads are notable, while third-gen Ryzen stood out because it was reasonably priced compared to its performance.
