I own a Ryzen 5 2600x with a GTX 970 and 8GB RAM at 3000MHZ. My Windows 10 is running on an older version stored on my HDD—it's quite outdated. Comparing Cinebench scores between my old and current Windows versions shows a significant drop, from 1356 to around 1280. It seems the performance has noticeably declined after each Windows update.

Verify all drivers are installed, especially the chipset. Remember these CPU security flaws were found, and the OS requires software updates to improve performance. Windows Defender (formerly Windows Security) has been enhanced over time with extra security options: Windows Security (or Windows Defender based on version) > App & Browser control > Exploit Protection Settings.
