Hardline leverages BF4's engine, with DICE assisting in its implementation, but that's the extent of their involvement. In practice, Hardline functions more like a standalone title. It operates similarly to a "DLC" experience, much like Left 4 Dead 2. I'm fine with them teasing a BF5 release. I just wish EA would grant DICE sufficient time to complete it fully. BF4 suffered at launch, clearly indicating the need for additional development. As long as BF5 receives the necessary time, it should be a solid game.
