Latest update on my Ram problem
Earlier I shared a problem I was facing with my RAM. My system only recognized 3.8GB of memory from the 6GB available, and I’m not sure what’s behind it. Here are some possibilities: maybe bent pins in the CPU socket are blocking the BIOS from activating extra DIM slots (though my BIOS does recognize other sticks). Another thought is that bending my motherboard could be a factor. There might have been a scratch on the PCB of my motherboard, which could affect how the BIOS handles the RAM slots. I spent a lot of time studying the manual and trying different RAM configurations, but when I switched to single-channel mode, it wouldn’t work at all. The layout I found online for my i7 920 CPU didn’t match what I expected.
Is the system running a 32-bit operating system? The memory size seems to align closely with the 32-bit address range, which makes it unlikely you're missing data entirely. The three choices you mentioned probably wouldn't allow the board or memory to function properly, and I'm almost certain this isn't the root cause of your problem.
