Hello, I noticed your older PC has been running sluggishly lately. You suspect the Spectre/Meltdown Windows patches might be the cause. To test this, you can try uninstalling the patch and see if performance improves. Even though it poses security risks, I understand your preference for a functional but less secure system over a fully protected one. If anyone can assist, that would be greatly appreciated.

it's an old Toshiba laptop from 2012 with an i7 2630, 2630qm, GT540M processor and 6gb RAM. i understand it's starting to feel outdated, but it's still useful until i can get a newer model. it's definitely worth having right now.
