Should someone compare benchmarks between the new Ryzen CPUs and intels 10 gen CPUs or wait until rocket lake is released because the 10 gen is seen as "old" tech ?, in abit of an argument with an individual saying that its not a fair comparison because ryzen cpus were released later in the year compared to intels 10 gen CPUS

You should compare it to other recent Intel processors and similar chips from competitors.

He's a big fan of Intel tech and isn't ready to give up until they deliver better design and performance across all processors.

Intel would likely need extraordinary efforts to match the performance of Ryzen processors for their Rocket Lake CPUs to remain competitive.

It's common to evaluate the newest offerings from all rivals. For AMD, their most recent chip is the Ryzen 5000 series, while Intel's latest is the 10th generation. If he doesn't secure that, skip him.

When Rocket Lake is launched, hold off for six months before the 5000XT arrives.
