Currently, the best choice for your GTX1080 setup is an i5-4560 with 8GB RAM. It’s stable enough for gaming without needing overclocking, and you can easily upgrade to a new motherboard and RAM cards later.

AMD offers Ryzen 3 3300X, Intel i7 6700K or i3 10300 options, often at lower prices. These are typically 4-core with 8 threads, making them budget-friendly choices. Many users find these models to be quite affordable despite their performance.

Checking if 2560 x 1440p works with 1080p settings on the newest titles and the upcoming AMD 5000 release.

If you're ready to spend €300, the 5600X would be perfect.

It might vary based on the game and configuration. You'll likely see smooth 60fps with medium settings in most titles. The R3 3300x and R5 5600x are solid choices.

I looked into some choices and thought about the i5 10600 or i7 10700—do you know if they fit the 1080? It’s not worth spending on an overpowered processor unless stores in your area have the latest Intel models right now.

I have 1070 Ti and I'm running AC: Odyssey mainly on high settings at 60fps for this resolution. Feel free to explore the rest of the rig on my profile.
