OS: Windows 11 64-bit
Machine: Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX v2 CPU, Ryzen 7 7700x GPU, MSI GeForce RTX 3060
RAM: G Skill DDR5 32G (16x2 DIMM)
Power Supply: MSI MAG 750GL
Build process: Assembled the PC myself. Found two bent pins on the CPU socket; corrected them. Successfully installed BIOS, set up Windows, and installed games. Enabled precision core enhancement and EXPO for RAM. Added two extra SSDs later from a friend.

Gameplay experience: During playtime, GPU stayed under 60% usage, CPU around 20%. After a short session, I powered off the PC and encountered a severe error—text appeared, followed by a long string of numbers and a red stop icon with a white X. It was too fast to read. Later, when I tried to start up, I received a POST failure. The monitor displayed “out of range.” During startup, I saw two long beep sounds, then LED errors changed from DRAM to VGA LED. All components were receiving power.

Troubleshooting attempts:
- Removed two SSDs
- Disconnected GPU and attempted POST via iGPU using F8
- Removed additional parts including one DIMM and kept only A2 DIMM
- Installed MSI GeForce 1060
- Sought advice, hoping for assistance.

the board might be in trouble, so consider replacing it instead. most odd problems usually point to a failing board, not just RAM issues. it’s good to swap out the RAM first to see if that fixes things before deciding to replace the whole thing.

I would explore all my choices before initiating a return. The visible lights on the DRAM and VGA LEDs suggest an issue with the socket or CPU. Given the bent pins you mentioned, it’s likely the pin isn’t properly connecting to the CPU’s VGA pad. This isn’t an engineer’s advice—just reset everything, including RAM, CPU, and CMOS, and see if it helps.

I always worry about damaging something when I reinstall the CPU.

Avoid mimicking Linus's style and don't waste time trying to fix it—just check if that single pin is the problem on your test bench now.
