Isn't this a preview release, those "beta" versions that come out before the standard monthly patch Tuesday? If that's the case, then the update from June 10th should include the same changes. If you've already applied that June 10th update, you shouldn't receive the earlier preview version.

It also mentions that KB5058499 indicates Windows 11 24H2 is becoming a stable and dependable gaming platform (hopeful outcome). Although it's not mandatory at the moment, all improvements will be applied to everyone via the June 2025 Patch on June 10. That information is available on the linked hardware page.

I meant nothing by the news posts—just sharing information with a group that might not notice it. These updates started as optional and could be updated automatically later. Microsoft has been a bit unusual with game patches, sometimes rolling them out gradually or selectively. They seem to prefer observing before deciding. No need to take it personally if things aren’t clear. Are you expected to handle everything yourself?

I'm really sorry, but I didn't intend to offend you. At first, I was puzzled about why it wasn't installed and later realized it was a preview update. I tend to avoid preview updates because they carry more risk of disrupting something important in Windows. (We didn't purchase a license just to test their beta version.) Even the June 10th update caused issues for users with Easy Anti-Cheat, and a patch was released the following day. Such problems shouldn't occur with the regular Tuesday update, but Microsoft's Q&A section is exactly what it is... In any case, anyone running Windows 11 24H2 with updates enabled should have the necessary fixes included, as they're part of the monthly Tuesday patch update, which is always required.

No offense taken. it seems Ms and Nvidia have been kind of chicken-shit with updates as they constitute an admission of error on their part. My last check was confusing as it seemed MS was once again using the consumer base as the Beta-testers. This "new methodology" of releasing new products F*****g sucks in my opinion. I understand the logic and logistics, but it still sucks to spend hard earned $$$ only to be an unpaid tester of new tech. I'll be damned if I'm gonna shell out $100+ for an O.S., $750+ for a CPU or $1500+ for a new GPU just so AMD, Nvidia, Microsoft or Intel can harvest my end user experience as what should be PRE-RELEASE product testing! It's only going to get worse due to the lack of competition and the big boys racing to outdo one another. More shit is gonna hit the pipeline, I guarantee. Ok...rant over, but am I wrong?

Windows has turned into a pretty much malware-focused OS now. All the talk about hardware security for Windows 11 seems like an effort to make up for past losses from free Windows 10/11 users. That’s a separate issue we’ll discuss later; the ongoing saga about Microsoft and piracy will likely continue. Keep an eye on upcoming threads. But remember, many tech companies rely on you and me as test subjects. There’s a clear pattern of major players rushing to launch features just to be first, often ignoring consumer needs. I’m eager to see what happens with the new AMD CPUs coming out this month.
