Consider upgrading now or wait for the silicon shortage to ease before you switch. It might be better to install a new CPU and motherboard immediately, then plan for a GPU later. Your current setup includes an AMD Ryzen 1600 with stock cooler, no motherboard, and a dual GTX 1060-O6G with 2x8GB RAM. Storage is a 256GB SATA III SSD plus a WD Purple 2TB HDD, and you have a Corsair RM650 PSU.

Consider upgrading now if the cost fits. The GPU on the other side offers the best performance for games, though it's tough to find one. The upgrade will mainly benefit games that favor quicker CPU speeds.

If I were being truthful, the CPU and other parts aren't as impacted anymore. Both AMD and Intel are back at their original prices or even lower with rebates. The high-end options are still tough, but mid-range models are quite affordable right now. In my opinion, I'd go for the 1600, pair it with a B550 board and a 5600X (or a B560 with an 11400F), it'll be a great upgrade while you're at it.
