Hello everyone, it's still me. I change my config again (yeah, for the third time). This is the new one: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600x GPU: XFX Radeon RX 570 4GB Motherboard: MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max PSU: Corsair TX 550M Case: Aerocool Aero 500 RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8 2400 MHz SSD: Crucial BX500 120 GB (for Windows) HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1 TB 2.5 (for data) Monitor: AOC G2590PX Keyboard: Trust Classicline The RAM and the Monitor are completely free thanks to friends, so i won't change it. About the RAM, is possible to overclock it (at least 3000 MHz) with A-XMP? Also, i wanted to change the PSU (too much oversiezed and overprized for my configuration), the case (i like it but i can't even install an ODD) and the SSD (not NVMe M.2, just a simple SSD, but with more quality and a size of 256 GB without raise the price too much). Finally, the new Mobo B550s are coming out and by the end of the year the new Ryzen 4000 will be presented, so would you recommend me to do this PC now or wait for a cut of prize in the future (and eventually change the Mobo with a B550)? I’d save on the processor unless your setup involves intensive CPU work. For budget models, prioritize graphics cards instead. This seems focused on gaming. Do you have any issues to report? Also, consider the Tomahawk MAX board.
Yes, with €630 in Italy, a 3600 should work. Would Inno3D suit your 1650S? You mentioned wanting a 3600 because of the built-in cooler, so you’d avoid buying another one.
For gaming purposes, opt for a Ryzen 3100 or 3300 CPU. The hexa-core version offers minimal advantage unless you also handle production tasks frequently. This allows you to save around 40€ on a better graphics card or another upgrade. Unless you already possess 2400 MHz RAM, consider a faster model at 3200 MHz. Right now, RAM prices are quite affordable and the speed boost isn’t significantly pricier.
The PSU isn’t too strong, giving you some flexibility for future upgrades. As mentioned before, you might consider swapping the 3600X for a 3300X or even a 3100 if you're on a tighter budget. The 3300X is a solid 8-core CPU, and I’ve already built a PC for my dad with it—wow, what a performance! You could save those funds to upgrade the graphics card if gaming is your main focus. Avoid spending extra on another SSD unless your current one is struggling. A 120GB drive should comfortably hold your OS and apps. Upgrade later if you have the budget.
For the B550 motherboard: unless you really need PCIe Gen4 (which I’m not sure about from your first post), there’s no point in choosing a B550. A decent B450 board will do just fine.
RAM is still a mystery to me—just try it out. Since you got it for free, I’ll use it right now.
