First time i post a topic here, so sorry if this does not live up to the rules and demands. I ran out of space on my main drive and started looking into cleaning a bit up and deleting unused programs when I stumbled upon the size of my windows folder. It's huge, 86gb, so does anybody know how to clean it up because that can't be right?

Start with the WINDIR/WinSxS folder. It holds downloaded Windows updates and grows in size. Apply the built-in disk cleaner’s ‘Advanced’ option to shrink it.

The directory occupies 7 gigabytes yet didn’t perform any cleaning for the advanced disk cleaner. (Also checked the tutorial here: https://www.tweakhound.com/2015/09/16/wi...k-cleanup/)

Check the tool to view the actual space usage. Files aren't shown in hidden lists or counted by Explorer.

It's likely the hibernation file. Turn off hibernation or remove that file.
