I was attempting to clear storage on my SSD today and while using WinDirStat, I realized my Windows installation directory is 50.8 GB, likely due to a large installer folder at 25 GB. Is there any way to reduce this size? Can I remove the folder or its contents altogether?

Obtain a cleaning device, scrubber, soap, etc. They are intended to assist.

What amount of RAM do you have available? You might free up space by avoiding using the pagefile or virtual memory. Have you switched to Windows 10 from earlier versions like Windows 7 or 8.1? This often results in a lot of unnecessary files remaining. Around 50 GB for the Windows directory is quite large.

Upon reaching a milestone in Windows, like creators, it retains the most recent version of 10.

Click the C drive, go to properties, select disk cleanup, remove system files, and usually I verify everything and delete it.
