Hi,
Thinking about using a laptop for playing RTS games is something I’ve considered. I noticed some performance problems with certain titles, yet others with desktop setups handle them just fine. I’ve struggled to play Attila Total War and The Great War: Western Front on laptops regardless of the investment. My current machine has these specifications:
MSI GE75 2020
CPU: Intel Core i7 10750H
RAM: 32 GB DDR4 @ 2933 MHz
Hard Drives: 512 GB SSD NVMe + 1 TB @ 5400 rpm
GPU: Nvidia RTX 2070 Super mobile 8 GB DDR6
OS: Windows 10 64 bits
I think the i7 10750H might be a bit limited, but it seems to work okay in some games. Mostly my GPU is sufficient for the kind of games I want to play. Still, I’m saving up for a better laptop and wondering if modern CPUs are truly fixing single-core performance issues. Are the latest Intel 12th and 13th generation chips really solving this problem?
You may need to list all the RTS games affecting the laptop for better understanding. Where you obtained the installers is important too. Also, let me know the settings you're using while gaming on the device. The type of laptop you had before would be useful as well.
