Laptop with solid hard brick construction.
Hello. I was running a BIOS update for my ASUS Transformer Book T300LA, but some new drivers weren’t functioning properly. During the process, the device froze and showed a semicircle in the center of the screen—a behavior I’d never encountered before. After continuing to run it for a few more hours, no improvements appeared, leading me to conclude it was bricked. I turned it off, intending to reinstall the BIOS, but now it’s completely unresponsive. The power button remains inactive, and the charging indicator LED doesn’t light up even when connected to power. I planned to use a BIOS programmer to reset and re-flash the BIOS onto the ROM chip, but I’m having trouble locating the correct chip. There appear to be around five chips that might be the BIOS ROM, and I’m unsure which one is the right one. Any advice or guidance from the community would be invaluable. Thank you.
