In short, my MSI Thin 10sc GF63 dropped roughly 50cm onto the floor. It hit its open side, screen, and keyboard. I didn’t see any issues until the fans got louder. It turned out core 3 was consistently around 90°C, while others stayed at 50-60°C. I tried tightening the cooler again because I didn’t have a full repaste kit, but it didn’t fix it. Could this be just poor seating that could be fixed with a repaste, or is there a more serious problem like motherboard flex or heatpipe cracks? Even with fans running at maximum, core 3 still throttled. MSI 10SC GF63 i5-10500h GTX 1650

Before receiving the TP, have you tried any other checks to confirm the issue or find a short-term solution? Since TP isn’t available nearby, online ordering will take about two days. You’ll need to use the laptop, so it’s safe to run normally while you’re in this state. I won’t play any games on it, but at 90% usage it’s unclear if browsing is safe.

No signs of damage or misalignment are present. Everything appears intact and proper.

If I were you, I'd check the BIOS to adjust how the cores are activated. That can be done directly on your motherboard. You might also be able to modify it through software like Intel or MSI (for instance, Intel XTU). Edited November 29, 2025 by leclod

It doesn't look like it, but I'm still figuring it out. I'll give it a shot. Also, is there an option to turn off the core temporarily? I understand it might affect performance, but I want to avoid overloading it.

That's what you were asking about—biographies or software.
