When I visited MicroCenter to purchase a device, the salesperson and I reviewed several models. I was particularly drawn to the feature set and the full-size keyboard with ten keys, which suits our frequent number entry tasks. During the closing process, he kept asking about extended warranty options and repeatedly tapped the charging port. I suspect he wasn’t permitted to discuss anything beyond those actions, and the way he gestured and looked during the upsell suggested something was up. After turning on the unit and confirming it worked, I quickly ended the warranty coverage to make modifications inside.

Sure, it's worth noting these details. Lol, canceling your warranty right away might not be the best idea, given how obvious it is.
Maybe you could try fixing it yourself if needed, since there are several ways to do it without spending a lot upfront. Apart from the usual problems, what do you think about the laptop?

I need to pack it in my backpack, but most are too heavy at 1.7kg. I can fit a 15" laptop, so it's not too big of a problem. Obviously, a 14" would be better, but it's not a top priority.

I suggest a 14-inch laptop if you plan to carry it often, as it's simpler to move around at home.

I have generally been satisfied with its operation. I began using it for my regular work tasks, but paired it with an external keypad, mouse, and monitor. I was using a Bluetooth keyboard that I really like, though the receiver inside the laptop seemed unreliable for maintaining a connection. That was the sole issue I encountered with the device.

Otherwise, it runs smoothly on W11 and performs well for my work needs. The built-in keyboard is sufficient, although I find the screen resolution quite limited. It includes a touchscreen, but only because it was included rather than being a desired feature. The battery life remains satisfactory for brief periods without power. When traveling, I use it with a DC to AC converter and disable the network hotspot on my work phone, and it handles tasks like converting JPEG to PDF quite effectively.

When adjustments are required inside the unit, search for videos demonstrating how to repair that connector using hot glue. This method simply enhances its durability and reduces the chance of it loosening easily.

It's accurate that the newest Inspiron 14 model supports upgradeable RAM.
