I have the 572.83 from March 18th. Previously, I had the 561.09 which was considered stable. However, given the card's age, it seems more likely the driver is newer and could be causing issues with older cards rather than problems I’m experiencing. Perhaps reinstalling the Intel drivers would help, but it’s puzzling since the system remains stable without them. It might require downloading additional software to get the driver recognized by the system—seems quite confusing.
It's not clear, but it's best to download drivers from the laptop makers' sites, especially if you're having problems. I understand it might be tough to find them, just saying. My Lenovo and Asus laptops run okay with their own drivers, though mine didn't before. I realized this only after upgrading RAM, which caused these issues... Hmm, you should check that (possibly reinstalling your old RAM).
I faced similar problems before adding RAM. In fact, sometimes I encountered the same BSoDs while just browsing Firefox or LinkedIn. After installing it, those issues have lessened, though the in-game glitches still occur. The Acer support seems very poor; I’m trying to get the older drivers, but it feels like a long journey. I used to own an Asus laptop and believed they were the worst, but I think I’ve found a better alternative.
It remains unclear how it adds value since it isn’t being utilized. The lack of use might stem from a driver problem, as laptops tend to be sensitive to such issues. It’s also possible the RAM wasn’t fully replaced—check if you mixed in old components.
I kept the two original sticks in because they were in the slots on the motherboard, and only added two in the external slots. I checked the voltage, speed, and chose the closest matches. Given the issues already present, it seems neither helped nor made things worse. I’m leaning toward a driver problem, but I can’t eliminate GPU concerns either—though I’d expect more problems if that were the case.
