Laptop charger stayed wet during the night without being noticed, causing performance issues and random blackouts.
Water spilled onto the laptop charger while it was charging, without anyone noticing overnight. The device now runs much slower and experiences random crashes, hangs, and black screens. I’m considering sending it to a repair shop but first need to understand the issue. My sister keeps her charger near an aquarium, and sometimes the water splashes if the pump isn’t aligned properly. Recently, she didn’t straighten it, causing a small splash. Over time, the water seems to wet the charger and goes unnoticed until last night. A circuit breaker tripped during the night, and it was restored without explanation. In the morning, when she was getting ready for online classes, the charger was still plugged in. I turned it off and unplugged it, but the charger was still connected beforehand. It was dripping wet and smelled bad. I disposed of it and used a spare charger, but the laptop remained buggy and slow, with frequent blackouts. The camera also turned on and off randomly. I’m concerned something shorted the charger, possibly damaging the laptop. I don’t plan to fix it myself; I just need to figure out what’s wrong. Laptop model: Asus a407uf
You could use any available PCs with ISO files ready to burn. Just ensure they have the necessary tools installed and a working USB drive.
