Laptop acting slow after a hard crash
Hey everyone, just wanted to tell you I'm having trouble with my laptop lately. Over the last day or so, it shut down completely twice while playing a game called WarNo. Since that second crash happened, my computer has been really slow. Even when I try games I usually enjoy, I'm only getting about 30 frames per second instead of the 70+ I used to get. Plus, a lot of the games are crashing for me now too. Whenever I check the performance tab in Task Manager, my graphics card is always showing at 100%, but my actual gaming GPU isn't doing anything at all. My CPU is also using up about 70% of its power. I've restarted the computer several times and made sure to update everything before this started. If you can give me a hand, that would mean a lot to me. Thanks in advance!
My computer details are: Windows Version 11, Graphics Card - Laptop RTX 3060, CPU - Intel 10500 @2.5Ghz with 8gb of RAM.
Hey, first check what kind of laptop you have. Then go to the website and try updating your BIOS to the newest version. Next, run a memory test from Windows and use HDD Sentinel at https://www.hdsentinel.com/ to check your hard drive. If everything looks good so far, try updating all drivers and doing a full Windows update. Also see if the system is clean and if thermal paste is okay. If it still doesn't work, switch to a different version of Windows and test again.
