LAN speed limited to 20Mbps. Assistance required.
I'm working with a TP-link av600 (600mbps) powerline adapter to connect my PC via Ethernet in my living room. I've used brand new Cat5e cables without any extension cords. My household speeds are around 512mbps, confirmed by testing on my Apple TV downstairs, while wireless devices range from 45-250mbps. My 5Gbps USB adapter caps my PC speed at about 20mbps. On my MacBook, I consistently achieve over 100mbps when connected via WiFi in the same room. I'm on Virgin Media with their latest smart hub. My Windows 10 OS is 64-bit, all updates installed. I've reinstalled and updated chipset, network, and LAN drivers; checked router settings, disabled Windows Firewall, tried different Cat5e cables, reset network settings, adjusted link speed and duplex to 1.0Gbps full duplex, used 'netsh' and 'ipconfig' commands to reset limits, turned off QoS packet scheduling, switched DNS to Google, uninstalled preinstalled software (including Cisco modules), and modified Ethernet stack settings in BIOS. I'm also considering relocating my PC downstairs for a direct connection to the router, but I'm not confident. Any advice beyond what I've tried would be appreciated. Thanks.
This option isn't trustworthy. Don't assume it's meant for a LAN upgrade.
