the venue has a limited internet connection with speeds around 80mb down and 20mb up, aiming to host at least 16 but no more than 32 people. after checking with the organizer, the details match their requirements.

It's a LAN gathering, so we'll limit online use unless the game requires it. The situation depends on the game as well.

they mention a gigabyte cached server, so i think they switched to another option when i asked about the games they didn’t provide much detail on except csgo. They mentioned both local and online play, and i told them if 32 people tried playing online with that speed, they just stayed quiet. i wasn’t trying to downplay them, just wanted a better understanding. even then they gave 80mb download and 20mb upload, but since they’re only 20 miles away and i did my own research, similar sites say speeds can’t exceed 50-67 mb/s. we all know that hitting that limit is usually not realistic. so if 32 people decided to play online for games like cod, would it actually work?

You'll need to keep an eye on lag and server performance when more people join, and consider setting a limit. Your local connection should work, but online play with many players might cause problems (for example, with 32 participants)
