I have an Actiontec T3200M gateway connected to a 75/75 fibre plan from Telus in BC. Over the last few months I've been attempting to connect my Xbox One directly via wired LAN. It functions properly at first but after hours of inactivity the LAN port fails. Switching to another port resolves the issue, though using all four ports eventually forces a reset. Testing with other devices on the same ports shows the same problem consistently. I've tried various adjustments—cables, modems, and settings—but nothing seems to stabilize the connection. A technician suggested replacing the modem as a solution, but I'm unsure if that will resolve the issue. My gaming PC requires a reliable wired setup, so I'm looking for any settings changes that might help.

Do you have a Wi-Fi router or network switch available? I connect a 10GbE port to a 1GbE switch and link the computers and other devices from there.

My ONT links the incoming fiber to the Actiontec Wi-Fi router. I only have the equipment supplied by my ISP.

It seems like the modem or router isn’t functioning properly, especially since you've experienced similar issues before. This likely points to a design issue or a software glitch rather than a hardware fault. The safest solution would be to swap it with a different model. However, there’s something you might find useful—works on Windows PCs but not Xbox. It helps when there’s a power line adapter problem, as it causes the router to ping every second, which stops it from entering sleep mode and affecting nearby devices.

I’ll try this after finishing my PC build. WiFi works on my Xbox, but I need a solid wired link for the computer. I’m hoping I can skip purchasing another wireless router.
