LAN connection for powerline and peripherals
I've been facing some issues with WiFi (.11ac) mainly due to frequency saturation, where multiple access points compete for bandwidth. The problems usually show up as unstable ping, and no solution has been completely effective. I've considered switching to a powerline adapter since the distance between my PC and network equipment is short—about 5 meters with just a thin wall—and the WiFi latency remains around 20ms. I'm not comfortable using Ethernet directly, so I've thought about powerline adapters, though I have no prior experience. Should I go for models advertised with higher bandwidth and see if that helps? Could they actually reduce the latency over WiFi? Additionally, I've set up home streaming from my PC to a laptop connected to my TV, using sunlight and moonlight. With WiFi, I experience frame drops on the main computer (since it's near the router) and even complete connection drops sometimes. If I switch to something like an Eaton USB+DisplayPort over Ethernet adapter, what do others think? Any advice or overlooked factors?
