I was gaming Fortnite when lag began. My internet was only 1mbps on Wi-Fi. Now using 5G, I’m about 60ft from the router—near a bathroom, bedroom, and floor between me and it. Testing with 2.4G shows much slower speeds. Could be distance or interference affecting performance?

You may need a stronger Wi-Fi card or improved Ethernet cable. If you're on Wi-Fi, consider adding a range extender and an Ethernet cable; this is the setup I follow.

It's been a bit confusing about why things are changing. I own a B550 AORUS Master.

Try updating the driver and adjusting DNS settings. Compare your previous and current ping results.
