LAGGING FRAME RATE ISSUE
LAGGING FRAME RATE ISSUE
Please respond. I recently purchased a Zotac GTX 1660 Ti GPU and am experiencing poor gaming performance. I’m only achieving 40-45 frames per second on GTA 5 and Watch Dogs 2 at 1080p resolution. My CPU usage consistently reaches 98% and my GPU utilization is at 99% when playing these games. Here are my PC specifications: Intel i5-4440 3.1 GHz processor, Corsair RAM 8GB DDR3, Corsair PSU 550 watts, and a Gygabyte H97M-D3H motherboard. Could you please advise on how to address this issue?
The system is experiencing a performance limitation. Your graphics card’s potential is being restricted by your central processing unit. The CPU lacks sufficient power to adequately support the graphics card’s capabilities, leading to inconsistent frame rates. Upgrading to an i7-8700k or i7-7700k would significantly improve performance, yielding frame rates exceeding 100 in games like GTA 5 and Watch Dogs. You’re utilizing a modern graphics card with an outdated processor, resulting in these problems – this is known as a compatibility concern. Always verify hardware compatibility before making purchases to prevent performance bottlenecks.
However, I’m observing that my CPU and GPU usage are both around 98% and 99%, respectively. Considering this, could you explain why you’re suggesting a bottleneck?
