Lagarith Vs Ut
Lagarith Vs Ut
I saved both files but noticed higher FPS with Lagarith while it crashes with UT. I haven’t played Ut long enough to compare consistently, but others on the forum claim UT runs faster. Why do you experience this difference?
Adjust the thread count according to the UT codec configuration. The optimal choice is 4:2:2 or 4:2:0, using ULY0 or ULY2.
I've been using 6 threads for Dxtory, but it might be consuming too much CPU power. @ ionbasa
It depends on your CPU model. I recommend using 4 threads for dxtory. Also, adjust the number of threads in the UT video codec settings—match it to your logical processors and set the radio button to Predict Left. These are the configurations I follow personally.
Your FX 6300 runs smoothly with 6 threads but feels slower. The radio button you mentioned is in the Codec settings, and yes, UT video is an option you can try.
I use the UT Video Codec myself. I’d configure Dxtory to run with 4 threads and set the UT video codec to use 6 frame divisions. The radio button you mentioned is found under the UT video codec settings, where you can choose "Optimize for decoding speed (Predict left)." You can view these options in the screenshot provided. Regarding the performance drop, it might help to understand how AMD manages their CPU cores—each core shares resources with another within a module.
Performance dropping? I'm still using an FX6300 with Lagarith, it's running smoothly at normal FPS, but not with UT.
