I've faced similar issues before, but finding a reliable fix hasn't been easy. My system specs are listed here: https://imgur.com/a/5MHKewc. I notice FPS spikes even when I press buttons in the main menu. It's becoming increasingly difficult to play games smoothly, and I'm unsure what might be causing this problem. I've tried various software solutions online, but it seems hardware might be the issue.

It seems the system may struggle with the workload. Consider starting with an SSD.

You purchased only one hard drive because it was enough for your needs.

It's not original. I've modified it over time. There was an issue with the hard drive, so I swapped it out. What's the issue with just one HDD? I don't usually run out of space.

Thanks. If you get an SSD, you can install it on your OS to boost overall performance or just use it for gaming. It depends on your needs. Regarding your motherboard, the MX500 supports M.2 slots, so it should work if yours does.

Usually you'll use an SSD for the operating system and whatever else fits well, but at least the OS will function properly. Even with strong other components, you'll still experience a very outdated feel without this. Regarding games, the main drawback of an HDD (besides load times) is how it affects movement—if games work smoothly when stationary but slow down significantly while driving or exploring new areas, the problem likely lies elsewhere. Yes, the MX500 line performs adequately. It doesn’t reach peak performance, but it’s also reasonably priced compared to its capabilities.

your pc feels sluggish with a 1 minute 30 second load time and long desktop wait times. an ssd could likely improve performance. regarding your storage, a 500gb mx500 would leave plenty of room for games on your os.

It might increase due to the hard drive needing to process all configurations simultaneously

Glad to hear the assistance was useful. It's usually okay to check things manually, though it slows down when I shift around. Thanks for your support!
