Lag in skyrim?
Skyrim games from its release era typically use no more than four threads. They struggle with Skyrim because of its single-threaded nature, though it performs better when all eight threads are engaged. Even then, a standard i5 2500K is much faster, especially in multi-threaded scenarios.
Sure, I’ll keep it simple. The issue isn’t the hardware itself. I’ve managed to play Skyrim on another PC with an AMD FX6300 and a GTX 660 that runs at full 60 fps, even on my older laptop. My question is, have others faced this problem? What solutions did they use?
It works smoothly because the GTX660 isn't being limited. Upgrade to a more capable processor to ensure the GTX 980 runs properly.
8350 plus Skyrim equals boom. The game feels overly linear. Fixing it would be simple—modify the code, install Nexus mods, and customize your experience. Once you’ve upgraded to a version like grass Sim 2k16, Waifu Sim 2k16, Skyrim Sim 2k16, and Photography Sim 2k16, things could get much better. How much more could it improve?
the 980 consistently outperforms the 660 in every test. i assure you it’s not restricting any component in my system—cpu, power supply, motherboard, ram, or anything else. the 8350 can handle a 980 ti to a titan without issue. please do your research before spreading misinformation. thank you.
The issue lies elsewhere, not with the FX 8350 itself. It only supports cards up to an R9 280X, while newer models like the GTX660 and GTX 980 offer better performance. I've reviewed the details—I'm certain the FX 8350 is the source of the problem.
What mods do you have? I experience intense hardcore drops and stalls with armor mods, especially Aradia’s sets, which really boost his visuals. The only real help came from a mesh optimizer. His textures are top-notch too, but I was aware of that before installing anything. I’m not saying the mesh problem is your issue, but without proper load order it’s tough to trust a blanket “everything works” statement.
