I have an old setup
When I launch the game, it runs around 60 fps with overclocking enabled. However, for some reason, the TDA usage drops to about 50% and the game slows down to 20 fps. The temperature never exceeds 65°C because it isn’t running at full capacity. But in Kombuster, the TDA reaches up to 120%, and the GPU stays around 80°C without any issues while overclocking. It’s not a CPU bottleneck since the CPU usage stays between 50-80% during the game.
This is really frustrating because I can’t figure out why this happens.
i3-4330
gtx 950
H81M
550W Corsair 80 plus bronze
12gb ram
TL;DR: Kombuster uses all my GPU power while in-game it limits TDA and causes a lot of lag

The required minimum CPU for that game is an Intel Core i3-4340. i3-4330/i3-4340 models offer 2 cores and 4 threads, which would result in poor performance. The ideal number of cores for gaming is around 8. A suitable CPU would be the 3600x/8700k/2600x/1800x configuration with 8 cores and 16 threads, targeting 6 cores and 12 threads. Your current CPU falls short of these requirements.

Most CPUs have between 6 to 8 cores.

Your GPU provides 2 GB of VRAM, which meets the minimum requirement. Most systems offer 6 to 8 GB of VRAM.

The majority of gaming PCs come with 16 GB of RAM.

You should consider upgrading your system.

Modern CPUs feature several cores and threads. Evaluating CPU usage in general is inaccurate. It's necessary to track each individual one. A '50-80%' rating might simply indicate that a single thread is operating at full capacity, not necessarily a system-wide constraint.
