Pardon my lack of experience but it's been a while since I've been OCing. I'm used to manual Vcore as it was before, and while trying to keep up with the latest tech, I've noticed a lot of news about Asus' Offset and Adaptive modes. However, I think Gigabyte's settings are among the most confusing in the industry. HardOCP seems to confirm this too, so I wanted to ask if anyone is familiar with Normal + DVID offsets and how to apply them.

I believe you should use Manual VCore to identify stable settings at various frequencies (like vcore values for 4.7, 4.8, 4.9, 5.0 ghz). After finding those, to benefit from C-states and EIST, switch on Offset mode and adjust the offset until your peak voltage matches your requirements. For Gigabyte, would that mean Normal mode plus a DVID offset?

Yeah I've seen that thread. The issue is that there seems to be a lot of confusion with respect to Gigabyte's own settings. That thread and many Overclocking Forums tend to have an ASUS perspective as ASUS is probably the most popular. There's clear resources even on Asus' own blogs and videos explaining the differences between Offset and Adaptive and Manual Vcore modes. When it comes to Gigabyte there isn't any explanation. The manual is useless and their Overclocking Guide is nearly as useless.
