I possess two keyboards. Each appears in the language settings, yet only one is visible in the language selection area.

I noticed I had omitted a key combination, so I removed the keyboard layout, changed it, and then reinstalled it.
Now I can't use any custom keyboard settings. Regardless of the layouts I have enabled, I always get the standard US QWERTY.
Before, I used a customized US-International QWERTY with dead keys for umlauts, but added support for many other foreign characters and symbols. It's the only layout active at the moment, yet even those keys aren't functioning.
Today I tried installing a Dvorak layout with the same adjustments. It worked initially, but it didn't appear in the language bar, making it hard to switch between Dvorak and QWERTY.
I then tried typing an 'A' with the circle over it, but it failed—turns out I had forgotten that step. So I removed my modified Dvorak keyboard, returned to Keyboard Layout Creator, adjusted it, and reinstalled it.
Now I'm stuck using only the standard US QWERTY, no matter what I try.
I still have two of my modified Dvorak layouts available, but neither is the corrected version. I renamed one just to confirm, yet it doesn't show up in the selection list even after installation.
I'm confused.
