Few believe Windows 10 is bad. It lacks the problems you mentioned, like unexpected apps and ads popping up.

You notice that Windows 7 is no longer supported—it reached end-of-life about a year ago. Right? We don’t want to follow the same path, do we? Not everyone shares Microsoft’s direction, and some disagree. Lol. Compared to Windows 7, Windows 10 works better for most users. It seems you’re hesitant to switch. I used to dislike Windows 10 too. When it launched, it was full of issues in many areas. Things have improved now, and Windows 10 has become a solid choice for me and many others. I’ve been using the same Windows 10 setup daily for over a year, and so far, nothing like that has happened.

And? If a Microsoft employee viewed the video, what does that imply? As I mentioned, companies and Azure generate their revenue there, not from random YouTube clips. Your view of what's "better" is different from mine, and your preferences aren't universally applicable. Personally, I believe Windows 10 remains the top choice so far. It offers stability, speed, and a wealth of features I find impressive—like WSL2, an improved Task Manager, the new Windows Terminal, and stronger interoperability between Windows and Linux. If Microsoft ever considered reviving Windows 7, I wouldn't support it; I'd stick with Windows 10 instead.

If your installs of Windows 10 are installing random applications or randomly showing ads on the desktop, you got much bigger problems. At that point you need to either run an AV scan or just nuke it and reinstall, cause you have malware.

I notice only Windows 10 is updating with some extra files during the initial setup after a fresh install. It's frustrating, but it's not common for users to reinstall Windows daily. After the first launch, I've been running Windows 10 continuously since its release.

I was raised using Windows 7. My dad only changed the version to 10 after switching to Ryzen. Although I favor 7 in general, I enjoy 10 for its appearance and ongoing support.

Even if you don’t agree with it, I believe everyone can see some improvements. There might be fewer unnecessary features and the ability to remove programs that won’t let you uninstall them. Perhaps there should be an option to delete updates when needed, and maybe a media player could be added. These small issues are still bothersome. Yes, my parents’ computer installs things like Edge and other unwanted programs we don’t want. Also, it would have ads popping up on the desktop occasionally until I turned them off. I’m not trying to argue about which operating system is better; I just want people to think about how we can create better operating systems in the future. Why wouldn’t better OSs be developed next?

There's a Windows Debloater script. Again, ways to do this. You can uninstall updates. They have a media player - windows Media Player is preinstalled, as is Groove Music and Movies and TV. I think your view of 10 is the base version, not the current version. Then it's got malware. 10 is NOT supposed to do that. Microsoft has said that Windows 10 is the last version of Windows they're releasing.

Truly, there are no barriers preventing anyone from adding to Linux.

They added the virus because they didn’t understand tech well enough. You assume it’s Windows 10 since you think you’re just as unsure as they are. No one at Microsoft cares much about Linus’s video.
