I’m evaluating my strategy for tomorrow and focusing on the 5600X. There aren’t many nearby stores likely to stock it right away, except Best Buy. When I tried contacting their customer service about the launch, they said they couldn’t locate the processor in their records and suggested they should be visible today if available. Could anyone verify this? If accurate, it might mean I should place the order online now. Would you like me to check the expected launch time for tomorrow? Thanks in advance!
I’d prefer to wait until upgrading any parts if possible. This lets you check the independent reviews and more refined drivers. I think I’ll stick with February or March to set up my new system. That way I can see what Intel will release and how it might affect the deals or prices for the 5000 series AMD chips.

You probably won’t face much trouble finding a CPU, they’re usually easier to obtain than popular graphics cards. What’s your interest in purchasing one from BestBuy? I’d simply keep all the windows open across major online stores and choose the first one that displays availability. B&H, NewEgg, and many others have options. Using PCPartPicker to browse other CPUs should give you a solid selection. If you’ve already secured the rest of the parts, it doesn’t really matter to wait; you’ve likely decided. Plus, if your PC is old, it makes little sense to delay—you’re already set. Why? It just doesn’t add up. Intel has released their CPUs and hasn’t announced any new releases soon. If you wait that long, you might be better off checking what AMD has next, and so on. Plus, he mentioned he already has the motherboard.
Thanks for your reply! I only thought about Best Buy because it’s the only store nearby that could possibly have it on launch day, honestly. I’d love to visit there tomorrow and grab it so I can start setting up my system right away. However, I can’t be sure they’ll have it available soon, so ordering online seems like the safer option. I hope they can ship it soon—maybe the 5600X will be in stock at launch, but who knows what’s changing.
