I'm swapping my boot drive from a 1TB HDD to a new SSD and installed Windows just fine. The issue is with the key—Windows 10 Education won’t activate the Pro version on the SSD. You can try converting your current edition to Education, reinstalling it in Home, or looking for an ISO file from an older release. Buying a key from a questionable source isn’t recommended. There’s no simple fix without reformatting, but you might get better results by updating the installation method.

AFAIK Education codes apply only to the home edition. Each version has its own keys and won’t work on other releases. You can either set up the Home version and use the Education code (no need for Win8.1, just install 10), or purchase a Pro key. I’m genuine—I don’t back grey market products.
