Many of these boards require BIOS updates for the 5000 series CPUs to function properly. Some support CPU-less flashback features, while others need an older CPU model to boot and apply updates. Check for "Ryzen 5000 ready" labels or boards with flashback capabilities to bypass these issues.

The CPU handles PCIE4 for key components such as the main M.2 drive and graphics card. The X570 supports additional PCIE4 connections via the motherboard chipset, though this isn't essential unless you're managing many PCIE4 M.2 devices. The Ryzen 5000 series offers a total of 24 PCIe Gen4 lanes. Out of these, 20 lanes are dedicated to the motherboard chipset, with 16 lanes reserved for graphics cards and 4 remaining for primary M.2 slots. If you install other M.2 drives, they'll draw power from the chipset at PCIE3.
