Hi, I’m facing some internet problems lately. Certain websites and downloads work smoothly, but most sites are slow or require multiple tries. Some pages, like speedtest.net, just show a blank screen. When I finally connect and start downloading, the speed is decent (around 50mbps). The main issues appear during:
- Opening web pages with any browser
- Windows update repeatedly checking for updates
- Searching online for drivers via Device Manager
- Downloading Minecraft Launcher after installer
- Stuck at 0.04MB when launching the launcher
- Successful connection to Fortnite but disconnection when trying to join a battle
Notes:
- No other devices on the network have these problems
- I’m using an Ethernet cable, not Wi-Fi
- I recently upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 and added a new GTX 770 graphics card
I’ve tried several fixes without success: reinstalling drivers, changing DNS settings, checking cables, clearing DNS, using different IP addresses, disabling the firewall, etc.
My system specs are: AMD FX 8320, 8GB RAM, GTX 770, 2GB Windows 10, Realtek PCIE GBE controller (via Device Manager).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I mentioned changing the DNS settings but didn't switch servers. These sites aren't loading properly. If they delay before finally failing, it might be a DNS problem. Consider using another server—possibly your ISP's could be the cause. I'll test with 8.8.8.8 Google DNS and 8.8.4.4 Google DNS. Also, there are tools that show which DNS is fastest based on proximity; I'll check one.
Sure, I understand. I corrected the IP addresses to DNS and rewrote the request accordingly. I attempted both suggested servers but encountered the same problems. It seems the issue might be related to the device itself.
It seems other network clients might not be experiencing the same problem. You mentioned safe mode with networking, but it wasn’t included in the list.
