Usually it's due to booting from UEFI. In the boot menu (F8, F11, F12 or similar based on your motherboard) find an option to skip UEFI. This allows smooth installation on MBR disks. Alternatively, you can: 1) select the drive in the installer, 2) press Shift + F10, 3) type diskpart, 4) list disk, 5) choose the selected disk (the number it assigned to OS), 6) clean the drive, 7) convert GPT, 8) close the disk part, 9) refresh drives in the installer, or 10) proceed with the setup.
