Hello, I just changed my ISP from a slow and inconsistent connection to something stable at 18 Mbps. However, I’m still facing issues with lag—sometimes it hits 100ms during gameplay, while on the old connection it would occasionally drop to around 60 Mbps despite being unstable. It’s confusing, especially since I’m new to networking. Could you help me figure out what might be causing this? Thanks!

If performance declined after switching ISPs, the issue likely lies with the new provider. Consider reporting the matter to the ISP. Also, what ISP are you using?

I reside in Lebanon, yet you wouldn’t suspect it—I relocated to Ogero and my previous connection was a shady individual who somehow sold internet, likely just for buying and distributing Ogero.

From what I grasp, Ogero handles the network setup, so anyone offering internet services in Lebanon typically relies on it. The only option is to file a complaint—I don’t see much chance because Ogero is considered one of the poorest ISPs globally.

The individual covered the ISP costs and then sold the service to others. This isn't unusual. Many people in the US have done this because of limited internet coverage. I've heard about someone who paid for a fiber connection, installed transmitters, and set up a WISP from their home.

I reached out to them and it seems there was a free gaming mode package available. Activating it resolved my problem, bringing my MS to a stable 65. I’m curious why it isn’t pre-activated for everyone despite being free and having no downsides. Thanks for the feedback!
