Kali Linux Live USB Compat-Wireless addition
Kali Linux Live USB Compat-Wireless addition
Hello. I aim to get comfortable with Kali Linux and my Wi-Fi isn’t appearing in the command prompt when I run ifconfig. I fixed it with compat-wireless-2010..., but connecting my laptop via USB for internet access is inconsistent. I’m wondering if it’s possible to store the file (compat-wireless-2010...) on the USB drive and make it visible there as well? My Kingston DataTraveler 100GB USB has enough space, but it’s set up to boot a live Kali Linux. Thanks for your help.
Consider using a different distribution. Kali isn't exceptional—just create another partition with your files and build a custom ISO. For more details, check this guide: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LiveCDCustomization
You can install it on the drive using a partition or create a new folder within an existing one if space allows. For Kali, especially with wireless concerns, you'll need a compatible wireless card that supports injection. If yours isn't functioning properly or requires a patch, I doubt it would work smoothly with tools like aircrack. It really simplifies the process compared to configuring Debian to handle the same tasks.
